I am trained in many aspects of ear, nose and throat surgery - including the care of children of all ages. My special interest is managing any disorders that affect the ear. Some of the conditions I manage in children and adults include:

Ear Conditions

  • Cholesteatoma

  • Chronic suppurative otitis media

  • Cochlear Implantation

  • Exostoses

  • Ear canal reconstruction & mastoid cavity obliteration

  • Ear pain – “otalgia”

  • Ear tumours – benign & malignant (e.g. glomus tympanicum)

  • Eustachian tube issues - dysfunction or patulous

  • Extra sounds in the ear (i.e. tinnitus, clicking)

  • Hearing implants (e.g. bone anchored hearing devices or ossicular chain reconstruction)

  • Hearing loss – regardless of cause (e.g. age related, noise-induced)

  • Otitis Media with Effusion “glue ear”

  • Otosclerosis & stapedotomy surgery

  • Perforated ear drums & surgical repair

  • Reconstructive surgery of the ear canal, middle ear & mastoid

  • Skull base tumours – e.g. vestibular schwannomas, acoustic neuromas & glomus jugulare

  • Superior semicircular canal dehiscence

  • Sensitivity to loud sound – “hyperacusis”

  • Tympanoplasty (repairing ear drum holes)

  • Vertigo - “dizziness” caused by the ear
